For MediaCityUK workshops, we suggest that you use the near-by Multi-Storey Studios Car Park.
DO I NEED TO AUDITION IF I HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?

CAN I ATTEND A FREE TRIAL CLASS?
The standard 2 hr class fee of £22.00 remains applicable. Once you have agreed to attend, we will send you an invoice. You can pay via BACS transfer or online. We do not accept cash payments. You’ll receive a payment receipt for your records. If you do not attend on the mutually agreed date, you remain liable for this payment. Like the acting industry itself, we value your integrity and reliability.

DO YOU EVER OFFER A FREE CLASS OR WORKSHOP?
No. Unfortunately, free places are grabbed very quickly. Only around 50% of people, who claim such an opportunity, actually attend on the night. Sadly, it's the same story at similar acting schools. This stops more worthy people from obtaining a place in one of our classes. By charging a fee, we know that you're more likely to commit and demonstrate your integrity.
I WANT TO ATTEND A CLASS OR WORKSHOP BUT IT'S FULLY BOOKED
Our classes and workshops are extremely popular. We always advise that you book early. We often close booking 7-10 days before the published start date in order to distribute resources. If the class or workshop that you would like to attend is listed as fully booked, we will add you to our standby/waiting list. Please email with your details.
WHAT ABOUT COVID-19?
We take your safety seriously and follow government guidelines. We've introduced BLENDED LEARNING - if lockdown restrictions are ordered, our venue-based classes transfer online at a 50% discount.
DO YOU HAVE GUEST PRACTITIONERS?
Guest practitioners are included in the standard class fee for our Act for Camera study modules. Other specialist workshops are also offered throughout the academic year. Industry guests are always very carefully selected and often exclusive. Please note that, after much consideration, we do not provide any additional ticketed 'meet and greet' events with Casting Directors, or Casting Associates, for actors who do not attend our regular Act for Camera or Theatreworks classes. There are many other companies in the city that are happy to offer you such paid for services.
ARE YOUR ACTING TEACHERS QUALIFIED?
Our resident practitioner Peter Carroll has 30 years of experience as a drama practitioner. He is a qualified teacher with extensive industry experience. He is an alumnus of The Acting Studio, New York City. He specialises in Stanislavski and Meisner. All our visiting practitioners are also established, industry professionals.
Classes and workshops are structured and differentiated.
WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?
Following your application to attend an evening class, you will receive a ‘next step’ email regarding arrangements for your interview.
For workshops and other special events - and following the normal registration process - you will be taken to a secure payment page. An email will be sent to you confirming your place on the workshop that you have selected. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive confirmation or contact

ARE CLASSES TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
All classes and workshops are a tax deductible expense for professional actors. It’s about keeping your skills updated and your on-going Continued Professional Development (CPD). All classes and workshops are invoiced and you will receive a receipt upon confirmation of payment. Please keep this paperwork for your records. We advise that you consult with an accountant for further information and guidance.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A CLASS OR WORKSHOP?
Please wear comfortable clothing and sensible footwear that facilities movement.
IS IT A FULL TIME COURSE?
Currently, we provide part-time evening classes and one/two day specialist workshops for actors and presenters.

WHAT IF I CANNOT MAKE THE CLASS ?
You must inform us by midday, on the day of your evening class, that you are unable to join us. Time goes into preparing resources and necessary administration. In accordance with terms and conditions, you remain liable to pay for a missed session(s). Persistent lateness or attendance issues will jeopardise your place with us. CAN I REQUEST A REFUND IF I CANNOT MAKE A WORKSHOP THAT I HAVE BOOKED ON TO?
No refund or roll-over is available. We run all our classes and workshops based on the viability of group numbers. Significant time is spent on preparation, distribution of resources and general administration. Please refer to our full terms and conditions - you will be asked to tick a box to say that you're happy to agree to them prior to acceptance on to our classes, courses and workshops. An electronic record of your agreement is kept by us and is legally binding. It is your personal responsibility to make sure that you are available for the workshop or class that you have chosen to commit to. To prevent further action, any outstanding invoice must be paid in full for any course that you have missed.
I’VE BOOKED A CONSULTATION MEETING. NOW, I CANNOT MAKE THE APPOINTMENT THAT WE AGREED. WHAT SHALL I DO?
Your integrity and reliability are very important to us. Notifying us on the day of the meeting is not acceptable. Failing to attend a mutually agreed meeting is a serious matter and could jeopardise us working with you in the future. You will be automatically invoiced for our time. The standard fee is £30.00. You will need to settle this invoice before we reconsider rearranging your appointment.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT GROUP LEVELS?
Generally, we work with mixed ability groups. This is dependent on your course or workshop. We work with the serious beginner through to established talent.
HOW MANY ACTORS ARE IN EACH GROUP?
Unlike some other acting schools, we cap our classes at between 8-16. This facilitates the quality of outcome. In the case of our presenter's workshop, we work with a maximum of 4 people.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?
Currently, we work with adults 18+
