Where are Thinking Actors based?
We’re based in Manchester, UK. We occasionally run workshops across the UK. We are venue based and online.
What are the opening hours of Thinking Actors?
We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays.
What is the focus of your training?
Our training focuses on screen acting, emphasizing building truthful, repeatable craft and camera-ready confidence. We offer modules in Acting for Camera, on-camera scene study, audition and self-tape coaching, and real-world location filming days.
Is there parking?
For our Manchester location at The Friends’ Meeting House (Mount Street), there’s on-street parking and several nearby car parks (e.g. NCP Central Manchester Car Park).
Are your acting teachers qualified and experienced?
Yes. All of our acting coaches and guest practitioners are industry-experienced, qualified professionals.
Does Thinking Actors provide Spotlight-recognised training?
Yes. Thinking Actors is a Spotlight-accredited training centre. After two years of consecutive training with us, you’ll be eligible to apply for Spotlight membership.

What is the application / booking process?
Once you’ve submitted your online application and completed registration for your chosen course, we’ll email to confirm your place within 24 hours (please check your spam folder).
Payments are processed securely via GoCardless, so you can book with confidence.
Will I get a Certificate of Completion for my course?
Yes. A Certificate of Completion is available for most courses, provided attendance requirements and terms have been fulfilled.
What should I wear / bring to a class or workshop?
Wear comfortable clothing and sensible footwear that allows you to move freely. A pen, notepad and highlighter are useful. You may also wish to bring a water bottle.
Can I request a refund if I can’t make a workshop I’ve booked onto?
Workshop bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. We run classes and workshops based on viable group numbers, and significant preparation time is required (resources, admin, planning). Please refer to our full terms and conditions.
How many actors are in each group?
Most classes run with 8–14 actors. Media training workshops work with a maximum of 4 people.
Are there any age restrictions?
Unless specifically stated in the course outline, we work with adults aged 18 and over.
